Gallery - Special Project: Japanese Teahouse, Garden & Pond

Return to the Gallery Index for additional pictures.

The Japanese/Canadian Teahouse, Garden and Pond includes elements of traditional Japanese architecture and landscape principles, but has many Canadian features as well.

Kon is familiar with, and has studied and sketched, Japanese architecture and gardens extensively.

Local stone was brought in from Harrison Hot Springs. A lightning struck cedar from Williams Lake became a structural feature in the Teahouse itself.

The Pond is home to many fish. It is surrounded by gracefully curving gravel paths. The Teahouse and Garden have become a place for many relaxing activities. A truly peaceful sanctuary.
