Following graduation from U.B.C., Kon worked with Arthur Erickson, Architect, and then spent three years in Tokyo with the renowned architect, Junzo Yoshimura, who designed the Japanese House for the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Returning to Vancouver, Kon worked with U.M.C.W.S., Architects and designed such notable Vancouver landmarks as the two Physical Educational Buildings at U.B.C. and the Masonic Vancouver Headquarters for BC and Yukon.

The current Uyeyama Residence showcases a Japanese/Canadian Teahouse, Pond and Garden and one of Kon’s residential projects in Williams Lake looks like a plane from the sky and the owner was often queried as to when she was 'taking off'.

The Feature Project uses new design and construction concepts and is particularly suited for remote locations where finding a contractor is difficult.
